Making a Password protect Word Document is not a difficult task.We have two options in MS Word

  1. Allow another user to only read the content.
  2. Fully Encrypt your Doc.

Allow another user to only read the content.

This option is useful for those who has important data, not personal data.For Example, You are a student and made a project in Word and Now You want that anyone can read my data but can’t edit it.

Follow The steps to make this type of protection on your file.

Step 1: Make Your Word Document.

Step 2: Click Restrict Editing Under Review Section in Upper Menu bar.

Step 3: After Clicking, You will see that a menu came at the right side.Click on Allow only this type of editing in the document under Editing Restriction.

Step 4: Now there are four options.Select the one which suits you.

Step 5: Enter Password and Now It’s done.

Fully Encrypt your Doc.

I preferred this method to secure my file because I don’t want to take any risk for my important data that it get lost. In this method, no one can open your Document until you entered the password.

Follow The steps to make this type of protection on your file.

Step 1: Make Your Word Document

Step 2: If You have MS-Office 2016 then Click on File at Upper Menu Bar.

Step 3: In MS-Office 2016, You see the option of Protect Document under Info option.Click on It and Select Encrypt with Password.

Step 3: In the previous version of MS-office, Click on Prepare under File Section of Upper Menubar.Select Encrypt with Password.

Step 4: Enter Your Password and It’s done.
